Six Scents explores new conceptual directions in the art of perfumery.  It was co-founded in 2008 by Joseph Quartana, the former director of the avant-garde fashion boutique, Seven New York.

Six Scents is composed of two distinct brands:  Six Scents Parfums and our newest, PARFUMS QUARTANA, which was launched in 2016.  Six Scents Parfums is essentially a collaborative endeavor which pairs today’s most visionary fashion designers with the world's most celebrated perfumers, in order to render the designers' visions through fragrance and shape tomorrow’s olfactory palette. PARFUMS QUARTANA on the other hand explores singular concepts in perfumery and its debut collection, Les Potions Fatales is based on the folklore of nine different infamous poison flowers used for murder, suicide and magic rite.

In June 2017, PARFUMS QUARTANA won the coveted Fragrance Foundation Parfum Extraordinaire of the Year award with perfumers Emilie Coppermann and David Apel for the Poppy Soma scent.  This is the second FiFi prize for founder Joseph Quartana's fragrant undertakings.

Each of our four series of six scents apiece by Six Scents Parfums has garnered prestigious industry awards or nominations, including an FGI International Finalist Award for Best New Fragrance Series in 2012, a Fragrance Foundation FiFi Prize for Best Indie Fragrance of the Year in 2011 with a second nomination in 2010, and a Cannes Lion for Innovation in Packaging in 2009.

Additionally Six Scents has been privately commissioned to develop fragrances for Project Zero Zero’s Them/Her multi-sensory project with Nicola Formichetti/Kaimin/Miles Aldridge, The Arnheim Mode Biennale, and The Standard Hotel and Spa in Miami Beach.

And with each series, we donate a portion of our sales proceeds to a deserving charity: Designers Against Aids, Pronatura International, War Child,  and now The American Association of Poison Control Centers, so you can feel good while smelling good.

All of our products are cruelty-free, developed in Paris and New York, and manufactured in New York City, using the world's best oils sourced from green and fair-trade suppliers.
