There is a sun that doesn't need the sky.
During my months of recovery lying in bed in 2017, I became fascinated by sacred architecture — not as decoration, but as technology for transcendence.
Louis Kahn's Salk Institute features a central courtyard bisected by a narrow water channel called the River of Life. The channel runs between two symmetrical laboratory buildings and leads the eye directly to the Pacific Ocean — a visual river connecting earth, water, and sky.
But the real magic happens twice a year. During the Spring and Autumn equinoxes, the sun sets directly along the axis of the River of Life — a perfect cosmic alignment. For a few moments, fire flows along water, and the invisible force that governs everything becomes visible in concrete and light.
Kahn integrated all four elemental forces into the design: earth (concrete), water (the channel), air (open sky), and fire (sunlight). The result is a monument to transcendence through alignment.
That's when I understood what I needed to create: a perfume that captures the invisible sun — the warmth inside you that persists even when the visible world goes dark.
The invisible sun no one else can see — but everyone feels when you arrive.
Soleil Invisible is that light, distilled.

The invisible sun no one else can see — but everyone feels when you arrive.
Soleil Invisible is that light, distilled.
Soleil Invisible renders a full day of vacation sunshine — the kind you only feel when time slows and worry dissolves.
Dawn. The perfume opens in a cloud of vetiver — soft, earthy, untouched night. The darkness before breaking.
Sunrise. Then the tangerine orb begins to cut through, pink pepper sparking like the first warmth on your face. Comfort. Hope. The cloud lifting.
Noon. The sun hangs at its peak: bright lychee and deep passionfruit holding the light in fullness, radiant and alive. This is the solar plexus fully open — generosity pouring out not because you should, but because you can't help it.
Sunset. Finally, the slow descent into vanilla — soft, golden, ready for rest. The satisfied stillness of a day fully lived.
This is the invisible sun you carry with you, always. The warmth that persists even when the visible world goes dark.
Research shows that certain fragrance compounds can actively shift your internal state:
Citrus and Mood Elevation:
Citrus essential oils — particularly bergamot, lemon, and sweet orange — reduce cortisol levels and increase serotonin production. A 2017 study found that citrus fragrance inhalation significantly reduced stress and improved mood. The mechanism involves olfactory stimulation of the limbic system, the brain's emotional control center.
Vanilla and Neural Comfort:
Vanilla triggers the release of endorphins and reduces startle reflex in multiple studies. Its scent activates the same neural pathways associated with safety and maternal comfort — olfactory memory linking back to early positive experiences.
Pink Pepper and Gentle Alertness:
The spicy, bright quality of pink pepper creates a lifted feeling — alertness without agitation, the energized calm of a perfect morning.
Tropical Fruits and Positive Association:
Passionfruit and lychee trigger olfactory memories tied to vacation, relaxation, and joy — the brain's association with tropical abundance and ease.
Soleil Invisible leverages these documented effects intentionally — not as medicine, but as olfactory architecture designed to guide you back to your internal sun.
The formula holds the intention. Your body receives it.
Research shows that certain fragrance compounds can actively shift your internal state:
Citrus elevates mood significantly — compounds in tangerine, lychee, and passionfruit reduce cortisol and increase serotonin production. The limbic system responds to citrus inhalation with measurable stress reduction.
Vanilla triggers neural comfort — activating the same pathways associated with safety and maternal warmth. Studies show it releases endorphins and reduces startle reflex.
Pink pepper creates gentle alertness — the energized calm of a perfect morning, without agitation.
Tropical fruits spark positive memory — the brain's association with vacation, ease, abundance.
The mechanism? Olfactory architecture. Scent bypasses cognition and speaks directly to the emotional brain, shifting your state before you realize it's happening.
Every ingredient in Soleil Invisible was chosen for its ability to guide you back to your internal sun — the warmth that persists even when the visible world goes dark.
Dawn through dusk, distilled into wearable light.
Soleil Invisible is vacation sunshine — the dazzling citrus of sunrise that morphs into noontime white light, then finally dissolves into the warm amber of the golden hour. The idea being that every day, no matter how cloudy, the sun always radiates. We carry that radiance within.

WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING
“Your first smell is wholeheartedly a base accord, twinged with tangerine hints of what’s to come later. Smoke for days, softened with green earth. Tarry vetiver, sweet-smoke guiac wood, and the “earthy musk” are huge stars in this chorus that smell like the finale in the first verse.
*
As the smoke drifts, crafted into the journey is a mounting sense of something bright beginning to rise. There’s a glowing citrus way, way in the distance – the first hazy, vaporous sunrise rays emerging almost imperceptibly into the night sky, until you begin to feel a nourishing lightness, a je ne sais quois change in the air.
*
Floral-with-a-bite pink pepper, rose, vanilla, and citrus play the part of the dawning morning as tangerine shimmers drift in and out of perception. You smell all the edges here, but the beauty is that you progressively smell them soften into the shadow of a vanilla sunrise.
*
What ends up being left is a highly memorable, hard-to-describe scent full of warm brightness, a warm smile that hints at the mornings to come, directly in the middle of the darkest night.
