Hemlock eau de toilette renders the philosopher's final clarity — pink pepper cracking open Calabrian bergamot, Martinique rum warming the throat. Then the black vinyl accord, slick and modern, wrapped in cinnamon, jasmine sambac, and sea salt: something wrong, something beautiful. Benzoin, vanilla, and sandalwood close like a velvet curtain.
“Hemlock eau de parfum starts with an accord which reminded me very strongly of when I used to open a new vinyl record and the smell of the fresh-pressed plastic would arise from the sleeve. Other corrupting influences like leather and rum show up as well. Then, a coterie of spices of clove, cinnamon, and pink pepper transform Hemlock from synthetic plastic to something more vital. A rum accord follows, melded with a synthetic white floral accord.”

Presented via chalice in liquid form, poisonous Hemlock was used to execute condemned prisoners in Ancient Greece, the most famous being the philosopher Socrates.
