“Dark and "poisonous". I have no words to describe beauty and the mystery of this witchy potion smelling in a first stage like a gorgeous niche mixture of L***** B******** vintage Venezia (in common plums, blackcurrant, amber, iris, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, spices and further) and T** F*** Black Orchid eau de toilette, overall in a more vivid and palatin form gradually evolving towards a soapier honeyed-chyprè in style with a classic dark spicy-musky-woody-furry touch.

The infamous Atropa Belladonna (deadly nightshade) is a perennial toxic plant with thin branches. Atropa Belladonna has always been a sort of gothy apothecarian secret ingredient with a significant presence in medicine, perfume, cosmetics, and sinny recipes (witches, medieval rituals, poisonous potions etc) for over a millennium. The Belladonna touch is kind of rooty bitter and leafy with a sort of laurel-undertone.

QUARTANA Venetian Belladonna opens with a plummy/boozy vaguely aldehydic yummy-spicy-musky blast (powerful on violets and plums). This stage is highly spicy, vaguely powdery/leafy (iris, violet, belladonna) and fruity with a minimally perceivable twist of booziness, honey/beeswax and a musky floral blooming up bouquet. Gradually the floral beat becomes more and more presenceful and redolent, even more subtle, dark, musky-lipstick and sophisticated. Dry down is a classically gorgeous "madame for" evoluzion of sandalwood, amber, musk/labdanum, leather and spices a la V** C**** & A*****, P**** or F****. The final wake is simply stunning and a sort of grandeur in perfumery revival. Thumbs up."

"Hypnotic, seductively restful, Venetian Belladonna starts out waving its wand over you with vigor and then as it winds you and itself down, retreats into your core, where it maintains warmth. Like an invisible cashmere sweater, it makes a magical insulation barrier on a hot day as well as a light layer of relaxing charm if unexpectedly caught in a chill. The second phase of steady warm aromatic gentleness is like a smile that lightens your state of mind. A smooth silk pillow that cools and rests the skin and eyes. It hovers with a steady gentle furry warmth just strong enough to relax the facial muscles. I can see how its honied sueded waxed florals are piqued around the edges with the sweet coolness of violet and iris, and the dryness of vetiver. It has an ornate, indeed Venetian quality around those edges. It makes a frame around you, highlights dusted with soft gold. Up close to the skin there is an intoxicating quality, like a glass or two of wine.

Infamously poisonous, the plant is also known as Deadly Nightshade, but it has useful relaxant and pain numbing, anesthetic qualities when used skillfully. Venetians of old had a penchant for its use as a sweet poison, hence the double side of its names, both beautiful woman and deadly nightshade."

"Venetian Belladonna opens with fruity plum and a mildly intoxicating cognac note. The fruit does not have a young girl character, this is a fragrance that seems much more ripe, not necessarily age-related ripe, but ripe as in more experienced. This fragrance has several tricks lurking. And it feels like it has an agenda. It knows well what it wants and what it does to you.

After a few minutes on the skin, the scent becomes more floral. It is a deep, sensual and very intoxicating floral scent that develops. It entices you and makes you feel slightly dizzy and dizzy. Venetian Belladonna is an intensely overwhelming scent. It may seem sweet and relatively innocent right away, but it's just a mask game.

From the heart of the scent down to the base, this darkness that has lain beneath and lurked for a long time begins to emerge. It is a honey-sweet amber-like darkness with fragile hints of exotic and slightly poisonous flowers. A beeswax note also appears. It does not really smell like wax, but more sweet and a little fat, and together with the suede, this amber scent gives a creamy, slightly intimate and warm skin-like tone. Very attractive and sensual scent.

This honey-sweet amber scent reminds me a lot of the Golden Cattleya from Olympic Orchids , if you've been to it.

I imagine a woman like Milady de Winter from "The Three Musketeers" using this fragrance. Seemingly pure and innocent in a very sensual and elegant way, but really highly tactical and life-threatening.

The duration of my skin is around 8-10 hours. The opening is strong, but the scent calms down quickly to medium strength. After about 5 hours, it sits very close to the skin and is experienced as a "skin scent"."
