When beauty requires a rite.
Dark rooms after dusk.
Iron and rose, Sambuca and amber, blood-stained skin.
Bloodflower eau de parfum renders the sacred hush of ritual offering — licorice and anise sharpening into a metallic blood accord that pulses beneath Bulgarian rose like a second heartbeat. Clove and orris root ground the ceremony; amber and patchouli pool beneath like ancient resins on a temple floor. Not a wound. A threshold.
“Bloodflower eau de parfum opens with the first syllable, a blood accord. I have always loved the description of the smell of freshly spilled blood as smelling of just-sheared copper. That imparts the concept of a chilly metallic accord and Mme Carlin assembles just that, with the early moments having a clean metallic edge to them, almost like a freshly sharpened blade.
•
The first transformation occurs as the blood changes into a licorice laden mix meant to emulate Sambuca liqueur. As with the top accord Mme Carlin also captures the sugary sweet quality of the liqueur as well as its viscosity as it feels like this oozes over the blood accord.
•
In the base the flower part shows up as a very deep rose is made even deeper with clove and patchouli. This is a Goth black rose to die for."

Poisonous Bloodflower nectar consumed by the Monarch caterpillar serves as the main catalyst in its sublime tranformation into the famed Monarch butterfly.

"For Bloodflower eau de parfum, I imagined what a vampire was thinking as it lapped away at the blood oozing from one's neck, and imagined that tasting like Black Sambuca-infused blood."
— Joseph Quartana, Creator
